Alliance schools encourage collaborative working during annual training days to address local and national priorities, for example, SMSC and the new National Curriculum.
Due to having schools in a variety of situations, we are able to team up schools with similar priorities to accelerate school improvement. Head Teachers pair up as critical friends to evaluate their progress against agreed priorities. Staff are given training in how to identify areas of development and our collaborative philosophy enables us to access a whole range of expertise and support.
The majority of Alliance schools’ Headteachers have trained in Peer Review with the Education Development Trust. Each year, approximately 25 schools are involved in Peer Review to support improvements in school.
We have also trained Deputy Heads and Senior Leaders who carry our ‘internal’ Peer Reviews and hold each other to account.
During 2018-19, Science coordinators will be trained to support the ongoing developments in their subjects.
